Château d'Yquem
Sauternes 1968
What a privilege to try this wine! A piece of history in a glass. Deep amber – almost mahogany. The nose reveals a complex tapestry of dried apricots, honeycomb, toasted nuts, and sweet tobacco, with fascinating hints of toffee and orange marmalade. The palate remains remarkably fresh for its age – layers of candied citrus peel, caramelized figs, and roasted hazelnuts are lifted by still-vibrant acidity. The finish is long, with delicate notes of butterscotch and dried flowers.
