Bachelet’s old vine Gevrey-Chambertin is a prime example of the depth and complexity achievable in village-level Burgundy. The 2019 vintage offers intense aromas of ripe red fruits, violets, and a touch of earthy spice. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied with a wonderful concentration of flavor, silky tannins, and a long, mineral-driven finish. While approachable now, it has the structure to age gracefully.
