Crowd-pleasing Chardonnay. Medium lemon color. Nose of white peach, lemon curd, and flint, with a soapy note that detracts slightly. Medium-bodied, delivering flavors of citrus and pear, accompanied by subtle oak influence. The acidity is well-balanced, leading to a long finish. While showing potential, this vintage falls short of greatness, perhaps due to its youth. A decent example of South African Chardonnay that hints at the region’s promise, but doesn’t fully deliver on expectations.
