A Little Tamer Than Expected. Despite its deep color and rich aromas of dark fruit and coffee, this Gigondas fell a bit short of the boldness one might expect. The palate continues with those same notes, but lacks the robust intensity typically associated with Gigondas. While enjoyable, it doesn’t quite reach the heights you might hope for in a celebratory anniversary release. A wine that’s okay for casual sipping but might not satisfy those seeking more oomph.
