The Society’s Primitivo di Manduria 2020
Light, Underwhelming, Lacks Depth
Noticeably lighter in color than expected for a Primitivo (light ruby), the nose is modest with faint notes of red fruits, licorice and a hint of spice. On the palate, it disappoints with its lack of intensity and complexity, offering a rather flat and one-dimensional profile of muted berry flavors. The finish is short and uneventful, leaving much to be desired for those accustomed to the rich, robust character of Primitivo.
