Château Giscours
Château Giscours (Grand Cru Classé) 1969
Mature, Leather, Meaty
This 1969 Château Giscours shows a deep garnet color but has unfortunately lost its prime. Dominated by oxidized notes and a lack of freshness and fruit flavours, it lacks the vibrant character of its youth. You get meaty notes, leather and tobacco. For me, it’s past its best and serves as a reminder of the fleeting nature of wine’s peak.
