Wow – rich and opulent! Deep, ruby red. On the nose you get heady aromas of ripe blackcurrant, black cherry and blackberry, intermingling with subtle hints of vanilla, toasted oak, and a whisper of spicy tobacco. The wine was velvety and full-bodied, with a luxurious mouthfeel that coated my palate in a cascade of silky tannins. The flavors were complex and layered, with dark fruit notes of black cherry, cassis, and plum, intermingling with savory notes of roasted coffee, dark chocolate, and a subtle hint of cedar.
