Château Ducru-Beaucaillou
Saint-Julien (Grand Cru Classé) 1995
Lovely Bordeaux. Deep ruby / garnet colour. On the nose, this one was a little shy and flat (maybe the bottle I had had advanced oxidation). But the wine opened up on the palate with black fruit, red fruit, cedar, violet, tobacco, a beautiful texture and sophisticated and silky tannins. The wine’s acidity is well-balanced, and its tannins are firm yet ripe, giving it a long and persistent finish that lingers on the palate.
